About Lawayra
Our immersive wellness retreats are located in the mountains near Medellín Colombia, and are led by indigenous guides.

Taita Fernando Jojoa, our lead facilitator, is part of the Jojoa family lineage, known for their dedication to holistic and spiritual practices passed on through generations. With more than 12 years of experience as a Taita (indigenous spiritual leader), Fernando brings presence and wisdom to every session.
He began his path at the age of 7, by attending traditional ceremonies and learned from indigenous leaders for over a decade. Coming from the Inga community in the Putumayo region of the Colombian Amazon, Taita Fernando has spent his life learning, growing and cooking his retreats.
In addition to his role as a facilitator, Taita Fernando is also a gifted musician. He shares songs that uplift each participant’s personal journey.

LaWayra retreats are led by Taita Fernando (indigenous spiritual leader), and brought to life by organizers from diverse backgrounds, including the USA, Canada, and Europe. They bring a unique understanding of the needs, and transformational desires of international participants. This blend of global insight and local authenticity ensures every guest feels safe and supported on their journey. In addition, we have a doctor on staff.
Retreats start from $695 and include food (all meals), preparation and integration support, transport from Medellin and a beautiful venue surrounded by nature (but not in the jungle, so no malaria and dengue). Each wellness ceremony takes place at our beautiful maloka (wellness rituals house).
